Tracy graduated from the University of Teeside in 1994 with a BSc Honours degree in Physiotherapy, and has since then working as a physiotherapist in the NHS firstly in Worksop the in Sheffield, in a large teaching hospital and then in a specialist children’s hospital with a bust major trauma center. Tracy has spent the majority of her career working within the specialist areas of limb reconstruction, orthopaedics, amputees and more latterly plastic surgery and burns injuries.
For the majority of her career, Tracy has specialised in musculoskeletal conditions particularly in the paediatric field. Tracy has a vast experience of treating children with congenital conditions, complex trauma and following the surgical management of neuromuscular conditions such as cerebral palsy.
Helen Sansome is a Registered General Nurse with 25 years post registration experience in Clinical Practice, having qualified from the Nottingham School of Nursing (now Nottingham University) in 1992.
Helen has experience in a number of disciplines including cardiac, intensive care, mechanical ventilation, gynaecology, elective orthopaedics, ENT, reconstructive and cosmetic surgery. As an experienced theatre sister she supported the team who set up the first De Vinci Robot to be used in a District General Hospital, in order to perform robotic assisted, minimal invasive pelvic surgery.
Helen is also an approved DWP (PIP) Disability Assessor, undertaking functional assessments of adults with a wide range of complex physical and mental health conditions which impact on their daily living and mobility activities, in order to provide advice to the Department for Work and Pensions on their eligibility for Personal Independence Payments. Evidence gathered at assessment is cross reference with supporting documentary medical evidence, which is critically analysed in order to produce a detailed report for the DWP. The reports are produced to specific quality standards and within finite time scales
Silja has been a registered Midwife since 1998 and has extensive clinical experience including working on an obstetric high dependency and within a multidisciplinary setting. Silja is a scrub midwife in the obstetric theater and holds a NMC registration as non-medical prescriber. Silja supports junior staff, midwives and doctors alike in their development and clinical practice. Silja participates in the interviews for perspective Midwifery students at Birmingham City University and mentors successful candidates upon their completion of their education.
Since 2015, Silja has actively supported members of the Royal College of Midwives (RCM) as a Steward.
Neil Thomas is a Registered General Nurse and Registered Nurse Tutor with over 19 years experience in Clinical Practice, ranging from:

Nikki qualified as a Registered General Nurse (RGN) in 1988 and as a Registered Midwife (RM) in 1989. She has practised extensively as a Midwife in the NHS and the private sector as well as overseas following her qualification as a Tropical Diseases Nurse in 1992.
Nikki has worked as a Senior Midwife in the clinical setting in various NHS Trusts since qualifying in 1989 and has a wide experience throughout all aspects of obstetric care and a special interest inn FGM.
Cathy Preston graduated from Birmingham University in 1997 with a BSc Honours Degree in Physiotherapy, and spent the first 8 years post-graduate as a physiotherapist in the NHS firstly in Sheffield and then Leeds, working across a broad spectrum of acute and out-patient departments. Specialising early in musculoskeletal physiotherapy, Cathy spent a significant amount of time working within orthopaedics, hands and plastics, burns, rheumatology and hydrotherapy, specialising further in 2002 in musculoskeletal lower limb disorders. Cathy is fully accredited by Cardiff University as an Expert Witness.
Dawn Hales is a qualified Occupational Therapist with over 19 years’ experience having qualified from the University of Northampton in 1998. She is registered to the Health and Care Professions Council and British Association of Occupational Therapists. Dawn has extensive experience working with adults with a wide range of complex disabilities in the NHS and a social care setting.
Sarah is an Occupational Therapist with over 20 years of experience working in the field of disability. She has extensive experience of working with adults and children with a wide range of complex disabilities.

Sue Williams is a Registered General Nurse with over 30 year experience in Clinical Practice, ranging from;
- Acute & chronic health conditions
- Orthopaedic, amputee and general rehabilitation
- Neurological rehabilitation – including stroke and spinal cord injury
In 1997, Sue became a practice development nurse within a large University Hospital Trust. Within her role (which covered two hospitals), she was responsible for educational provision for registered nurses and healthcare assistants. Her responsibilities also included clinical audit, i.e. monitoring practice; and supporting staff to develop their clinical practice.
Amy is an experienced Occupational Therapist having qualified in 1999 from the University College of Ripon and York St John.
Amy is registered with the HCPC and is a member of the British Association of Occupational Therapy.
She has experience in a wide range of conditions including brain injury, spinal tumours, complete and incomplete spinal lesions, cauda equina, stroke, polytrauma and orthopaedic injuries, incontinence and chronic pain.
