Helen Jane Sansome

Helen Sansome is a Registered General Nurse with 25 years post registration experience in Clinical Practice, having qualified from the Nottingham School of Nursing (now Nottingham University) in 1992.

Helen has experience in a number of disciplines including cardiac, intensive care, mechanical ventilation, gynaecology, elective orthopaedics, ENT, reconstructive and cosmetic surgery.  As an experienced theatre sister she supported the team who set up the first De Vinci Robot to be used in a District General Hospital, in order to perform robotic assisted, minimal invasive pelvic surgery.

Helen is also an approved DWP (PIP) Disability Assessor, undertaking functional assessments of adults with a wide range of complex physical and mental health conditions which impact on their daily living and mobility activities, in order to provide advice to the Department for Work and Pensions on their eligibility for Personal Independence Payments. Evidence gathered at assessment is cross reference with supporting documentary medical evidence, which is critically analysed in order to produce a detailed report for the DWP. The reports are produced to specific quality standards and within finite time scales

Philippa Feltham-White

Philippa Feltham-White is an experienced Occupational Therapist, having qualified at St Loye’s College in Exeter in 1988. She is registered with the Health Care Professions Council and the Specialist Neurological Section of the College of Occupational Therapy. She has worked in a variety of locations including England and Scotland, Germany, South Africa, as well as in a voluntary capacity in Romania. She has worked within the NHS, private independent, and charitable sectors.

Michelle Henry

Michelle qualified as an Occupational Therapist from the University of Coventry in 2005, commencing an Occupational Therapy rotation, working in mental health, acute medicine and orthopaedics. During this rotation Michelle developed her assessment and clinical reasoning skills. This enabled Michelle to provide occupation focused assessments and intervention leading to maximising the independence and safety of individuals in their own homes or agreed discharge destination. Michelle worked on establishing and improving the person’s current level of abilities to increase their independence and to ensure that the person receives the appropriate support and or aids required for discharge out of hospital.

Alison Conway

Alison Conway is registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council as both a Registered General Nurse and an Independent Nurse Prescriber. She has over 30 years’ clinical experience in both the NHS acute sector and the community, caring for adults and children. She is an experienced expert witness having completed a number of liability and quantum reports for both Claimant and Defendant. Her expertise is wide ranging and covers both medical and nursing negligence alongside assessment and care reports required for all disability, injury or illness as a result of road traffic accidents, accidents at home and at work. These disabilities include paraplegia, tetraplegia, catastrophic injury, cerebral palsy and neuromuscular disease. Alison has particular expertise in respiratory and thoracic care and management, including tracheostomy, ventilation and occupational lung disease.

Dawn Hales

Dawn Hales is a qualified Occupational Therapist with over 19 years’ experience having qualified from the University of Northampton in 1998.  She is registered to the Health and Care Professions Council and British Association of Occupational Therapists.  Dawn has extensive experience working with adults with a wide range of complex disabilities in the NHS and a social care setting.

Hilary Whitworth

Hilary Whitworth is an experienced Occupational Therapist who qualified in 2002. She is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and is a member of the British Association of Occupational Therapists (BAOT).

Hilary has a vast amount of experience and expertise of working with adults and children with a wide range of complex disabilities including: brain injury; spinal injury; cerebral palsy; orthopaedic injuries; chronic pain syndrome; amputations; cancer; respiratory conditions; and cerebrovascular accident. She is particularly skilled in assessing and making recommendations for the provision of specialist equipment and housing adaptations. Hilary has also been instrumental in advising on the care requirements to support people with complex physical, cognitive and social needs ranging from domiciliary type packages up to 24 hour support.

Hilary accepts instructions relating to both adults and children.

Claire Ashton

Claire Ashton qualified as an Occupational Therapist from the University of Salford in 1998, with a BSc (Hons) degree. She is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and is a member of the British Association of Occupational Therapists (BAOT).

Upon qualification, Claire worked with South Manchester University Hospital Trust, where she gained experience in the areas of Neurology and Orthopaedics, in both acute and rehabilitation settings.  In October 1999, Claire gained a promotion into a more senior position, working in the community in an interdisciplinary community rehabilitation team.   Here she gained valuable knowledge and experience in the assessment and rehabilitation of people with complex needs, and was also encouraged to work autonomously as a community practitioner, liaising with the multi-disciplinary team and also with other statutory and charitable bodies where necessary in order to assist her clients to attain their optimal functional level.

Anna Cawdry

Anna Cawdry is an experienced Occupational Therapist having qualified in 1996. She is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council and is a member of the British Association of Occupational Therapists. Anna is also a member of the College of Occupational Therapists special interests groups for Housing and Practitioners in Independent Practice.

Anna has worked in the NHS, Local Authority and the Independent Sector gaining extensive experience of working with adults and children with complex disabilities. In 1997, Anna worked as an Occupational Therapist in the USA and still maintains her American OTR registration.

Ana Maria Heseltine

Ana Maria Heseltine, BSc (Hons), is an experienced Occupational Therapist, registered with the Health Professions Council and is a member of the British Association of Occupational Therapists. She qualified in 1983 gaining a degree in Occupational Therapy from the Federal University of Pernambuco in Brazil. She has worked in the NHS, Social Services and in the independent sector gaining extensive experience of working with children and adults with complex disabilities. After graduating in Brazil, Ana Maria worked in a forensic psychiatric prison, where she gained experience in the treatment of a range of psychiatric conditions. She set up individual and group therapy plans for all patients.

Paul Doyle

Paul Doyle has been engaged in the field of Assistive Technology since 1995 in a variety of operational and strategic roles. He currently manages the Access Centre at Hereward College. As part of a multi-disciplinary team he has participated in the assessment for and the provision of assistive technologies as diverse as communication aids (AAC) aids and powered wheelchairs to alternative access to ICT and environmental control systems and latterly a variety of robotic assistive technologies.
