Dawn began her career at the Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust where she completed a rotational post developing her occupational therapy skills in assessment, rehabilitation and hospital discharge planning in acute medical, surgical, orthopaedic, burns and plastics and rheumatology. Dawn ran a cardiology rehabilitation programme for patients returning to fitness after heart attack and attended the burns clinic to measure and fit pressure garments to adults and children with substantial burns and scarring.
Dawn currently works as a regional assessor for the charity Canine Partners. She completes assessments for adults in their own home with a wide range of complex physical health disabilities including cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, and muscular dystrophy as a part of their application for an assistance dog. The assessment is occupational therapy based and identifies the level of function and care requirements of the applicant and the suitability of the home environment to ensure that the dog’s needs will also be met.Download CV
