Bill has worked in healthcare since 1983, commencing his nurse education at the Salisbury School of Nursing in 1986, qualifying in 1989. Following his qualification he has worked exclusively for the NHS and until September 2016 was employed as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in tissue viability with Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust.

Bill supported the formation of the Pressure Ulcer Outreach Service, allied to the Plastic Surgery Service at Salisbury District Hospital which was responsible for the holistic management of every patient referred to the Odstock Centre for Burns and Plastic Surgery for management of pressure ulcers. The function of the service was the management of all patients referred to plastic surgery for treatment of pressure ulcers, the vast majority of whom were permanent wheelchair users.

Bill has a special interest in tissue viability and pressure sores and can complete liability reports in these areas.
