The Paul Bush Foundation Trust – October 2014 Update
By Bush & Company
The second Trust meeting for 2014 was held in October.
25 organisation applications were received and the Trust awarded two charities with a donation towards their very valuable work:
The Spinal Injuries Association (SIA) was awarded funds to help them with the support of developments, in particular their Vocational Support Services for the next 12 months.
The Back Up Trust, coincidentally another charity for those with spinal cord injuries, had funds awarded to provide piloted community based wheelchair skills training.
5 individual applications were also granted funds following the meeting, one for the cost of a motor rise and recline chair, another for a sports trike, one for a hand cycle and another for a high tech powered wheelchair. One gentleman, who was left quadriplegic after a mountain bike accident and had been raising funds for a powered wheelchair to enable him to ride along with his friends, was particularly grateful;
“That’s great news…I have been overwhelmed by what support I have received and this has been something I have been working towards all year. So you can feel that you have really made a positive difference.”
It is great that the Trust can make such a difference to those individuals who don’t have a Personal Injury or Medical Negligence claim.
We continue to encourage supporters of the Trust to raise funds so that we can assist more people in the future. To read more about how the Trust was established and how it could help you, please visit The Paul Bush Foundation Trust page of our website.
Following the success of the Great Bush Bake Off which raised over £300, we will be holding a charity raffle in the lead up to Christmas with some fantastic prizes on offer, including a week in June 2015 for up to 6 people in a luxury wheelchair accessible villa in Javea, Spain!
