A sensory delight for one incredible boy
We were over the moon this week to receive some lovely pictures from one of our paediatric case managers Helen Caple, showing us an amazing sensory garden she had created on a tight budget for one of her clients; an incredible nine year old boy living with significant disabilities post-catastrophic injury.
Helen has supported the family to look for appropriate, safe and livable rental accommodation as the family look for their forever home but the garden wasn't an inviting and relaxing space that the family deserved; all children deserve to enjoy outside space and spend their childhood smiling, laughing and being free.
Working closely with the solicitor and deputy, Helen arranged for a small amount of money to make the outside space into a sensory garden for her client. She headed off to the garden centre and even roped in her husband to help plant pots! This week Helen visited the family to deliver the sensory items and help create a tranquil place for them to be a family.
The garden is now home to plants, windmills, windchimes, fragranced plants and trellis as well as a happy family!
