COVID-19 – Adapting to Change

As the ever changing situation with COVID-19 continues I wanted to get in touch, nearly one month on from my last note, to update you on how the team at Bush & Co are adapting to change; ensuring we continue to provide safe and effective services.

My senior team have been keeping in touch with as many firms as possible over the phone and this is a daily task we’ll continue. It’s important for us to maintain our close working relationships and understand what you and clients need from us. It’s great to hear how you’re adapting and encouraging to know, like us, you’re open for business; even if it does feel like we’re weathering choppy waters.

Here’s how we continue to evolve and respond...

Desktop assessments for expert witness reports

Our liability reports can be provided in the usual way however we’ve adapted our quantum report offering.  We offer desktop assessment using telephone/video conferencing through a platform the clients are most comfortable with (Whatsapp, Microsoft Teams, Zoom etc) and once assessment has been made will follow up with a report.

You have the option to request a face-to-face assessment to follow up once the UK comes out of lockdown and this service is available across all of our report types. This revised process helps you to keep the legal process moving and your clients are not waiting to be assessed; a way to provide certainty at a very uncertain time.

Free technology

We appreciate that not all clients will have access to video conferencing technology for case management updates and assessments and expert witness reporting so we are able to post out a secure tablet for any client who finds themselves in this position.

To request this free service, mention it to our instructions team, your case manager or the expert witness assigned to the case and a tablet will be posted to the client with instructions on how to return it after the meeting/assessment.

Clinical leadership

Our well established clinical leadership is more valuable the ever before. We have a team of operations managers, all clinicians by profession, across the UK who are working tirelessly to support our case managers with guidance, case clinics and asking questions. They are also there to check-in with our network of over 100 case managers to ensure we keep an eye on their wellbeing.

Increased communication and information sharing

We have increased the amount of communications our case managers and expert witnesses receive on important topics such as protection of support workers and clients, PPE provision, preferred provider services etc. Queries are answered promptly by our clinical leadership team and weekly FAQs are shared with our whole network or as and when Public Health England guidance changes.

Final thoughts…

For an overview of how each of our services are adapting, please see our Service Matrix - COVID19..

Like many, our priority is to deliver safe and effective care where none is compromised and I will continue to monitor and evaluate our decisions and how we can help further.

I’m proud of how our fully mobilised head office team are taking on the daily challenges of living and working at this time and of the way our case managers whole heartedly care about the support they give the clients. Our experts remain as dedicated as ever and all our staff and consultants are truly living the Bush & Co values.

Thanks,
Helen
