A world of possibilities – Our new charity partner
Making a difference is at the heart of what we do at Bush & Co. That’s why, in our 35th year we’re pleased to announce our new corporate charity partner – UK Youth.
UK Youth is a leading national charity that exists to ensure all young people are equipped to thrive and feel empowered to contribute at every stage of their lives.
The pandemic has impacted children and young people socially and emotionally and mental health amongst the young continues to be a concern in many areas - coupled with safety on the streets, finding work and resilience.
Vital funding has also been cut during the pandemic that young people sadly have come to rely on.
We felt it was important to partner with a charity that supports and inspires young people across the UK – people who are not necessarily catastrophically injured like the young clients we support but who are vulnerable for many other reasons. – Helen Jackson, Managing Director
About the charity
UK Youth leads a network of 8,500 local youth organisations called the UK Youth Movement and together they reach more than 4.1 million young people.
They deliver two core pillars of work. The first is working with organisations within their network to design and deliver national skills development programmes for young people. These include programmes that support outcomes related to mental health, employability, financial & digital inclusion and outdoor learning. Every year, more than 100,000 young people participate in their programmes.
The second core pillar of UK Youth’s work is the provision of vital infrastructure support to the youth sector at local and national level. To do this they embed and share learning from the delivery of their skills development programmes as well as deliver high-quality training and peer learning events to youth workers and volunteers.
The charity also use their growing platform to campaign for increased funding and support for the youth. Back in 2020, they established the UK Youth Fund working with the private sector and Government to distribute £2m in emergency funding to local youth organisations in desperate need.
