Bush & Co and Stoke Mandeville Spinal Research announce 2020 partnership

Bush & Co and Stoke Mandeville Spinal Research are happy to announce their continued partnership into 2020, bringing together two services that help those living with a spinal cord injury live a fulfilled life.

Founded in 2006, Stoke Mandeville Spinal Research (SMSR) is an independent, national charity seeking to promote quality of life in people with a spinal cord injury through invaluable research into areas such as assistive technology, neuropathic pain, pressure ulcers and urinary tract infections. Their vision is to enable people with spinal cord injury to have life after paralysis without the setbacks of debilitating associated health complications.

Bush & Co has been the UK’s largest provider of case management services in the UK since 1986, offering the coordination of rehabilitation care and support to those who have a suffered a catastrophic injury. Last year their network or passionate and experienced case managers assisted over 2000 clients in their rehabilitation including emotional, physical and vocational needs. In 2018 they also launched SIA Case Management in a joint venture with the Spinal Injuries Association, a service working solely with adults and children following a spinal cord injury.

Research Grants Manager for Stoke Mandeville Spinal Research, Derek Cutler, said: “Each year in the UK around 1,200 people are diagnosed with a spinal cord injury (SCI) many of whom will experience life-long complications as a result of their injury.
