Bush & Co experience a snippet of life after paralysis

Over the past few years, Bush & Co has been building a relationship with Stoke Mandeville Spinal Research Team and have contributed financially to some of their life changing research projects including neuropathic pain, UTIs, pressure ulcers and assistive technology; all vital research into improving the lives of people following paralysis.

Last year, some staff also took part in volunteering and fundraising activities and we're excited to announce our next fundraising initiative - Wheels at Work. Helen Jackson, Managing Director, Fiona Kenny, Head of Case Management and Rehabilitation and Amey Haywood, Head of Business Operations will not only be raising funds but also awareness of living in a wheelchair.

On 29th March, Helen, Fiona and Amey will spend their day at work in a wheelchair. During the day they will find out just what it’s like to go about their life in a wheelchair and on that day in particular they have the SMT meeting, a networking lunch, a case manager webinar and various other meetings as well as generally being in the office where they’ll be making tea, visiting the bathroom, catching up with colleagues etc. The wheelchairs have kindly been donated for the day by Gerald Simonds Healthcare

During their day and to help raise awareness of life after paralysis we’ll be creating a photo and video diary and finding out how they get on, how they were treated and how they felt. We’ll share this with you and on our social media channels so please look out for it but in the meantime, there is something we need your help with!

To show your support of Helen, Fiona and Amey and to help them raise as much money as possible, we’d love it if you could donate, even if it’s the cost of your takeaway coffee or a small treat you normally buy in the week.
